Shine Brighter

by Sherri Shipman

Shine Brighter church For the darkness is thick And only a bright light can pierce it. Shine bright, be a lighthouse, A beacon in a storm A ship is not saved by a candle. The absence of light has made way for the dark.   A reality harshly received. Like a dense fog, a dreary Darkness covers the land. It will not give way to a theory. A decade has passed and we waited for seekers. They sought but found only religion. Still wandering around, in the pitch black they find far more power and a place of acceptance. A candle in the wind cannot long hold its flame. The storm clouds are gathering to taunt. But boldness, shining brightly, plants its feet on the shore and speaks peace with authority to calm. Shine brighter church. Come out from among. Stop trying to fit in and blend. Shine brighter. Set apart , pure and holy washed in blood. Take salvation to this dry and thirsty land.
